Artist of the month - Plartform.net
plARTform is pleased to announce our new ARTIST OF THE MONTH selection.
Every month our experts review and nominate one plRTform artist!
2022 July
Aleksei Schmidt
Estonia, 1965
plARTform is happy to announce our nomination for Painter of the Month / July 2022/. Our jury has chosen the contemporary artist from Estonia, Aleksei Schmidt. Aleksei paints since early childhood. Not a professional painter, he paints during all his free time and finds more joy and inspiration in painting with the sea, animals, landscapes and people. Recently, as any artist that changes and evolves, Alexei has been creating paintings influenced by the Dream Art style, which was popular in the 1960s of the last century. This style is based on such areas of artistic painting as Impressionism (highlighting textures) and Caravaggism (dramatization with the help of contrasts, playing with shadows). In many ways, Dream Art is similar to another popular trend – Pop Art. However, despite the similarities, Dream Art still has its unique charm. Aleksei Schmidt currently lives and works in Tallinn. You find the artist's works in various art galleries and private collections. We sincerely congratulate Aleksei on his victory in the Artist of the Month nomination and with all my heart wish him many more victories that are creative. While reviewing his art, we got from our jury words such as “memorable, original and touching” – good words on the good work of a good artist! Congratulations Aleksei Schmidft, on plARTform and beyond!
2022 June
Igor Navrotskyi
Slovakia, 1971
At the start of summer we are pleased to present the talented artist Igor Navrotskyi, who got the highest scores from the jury and receives the "Artist of the Month" nomination. Born in 1971 in Kiev (Ukraine), Igor studied at the Painting school of the Union of Artists of Ukraine and then continued his creative activity in Slovakia where he has settled some 10 year ago. He paints his works in a studio located in the picturesque region of Slovakia and in Vienna. An honorary member of the Union of Artists of Slovakia, Igor Navrotskyi made numerous personal exhibitions in Slovakia, Austria and Germany. In his pictorial essays, Igor opens the world of human emotions and experiences. His works are born at the crossroad of inspiration, creative experience and observation. In the midst of them Igor tries to convey subtle vibrations of emotions and sensations - a gallery of female portraits that aim at revealing female psychology through visual art. According to the artist himself, painting is at the same time an unity of opposites but also the search for a balance between them. Logical and emotional, sadness and joy, shadow and light, strength and fragility. Besides plARTform, you find the artist's works in private and public collections in the USA, Austria, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Canada, Hungary, Italy, Switzerland, England, and Spain. plARTform sincerely congratulates Igor on yet another achievement in his creative work and wishes him the same inexhaustible inspiration!
2022 May
Natia Chanturidze
Georgia, 1979
plARTform is happy to present our new "Artist of the Month"nomination - Natia Chanturidze from Georgia. Born in 1979 in Tbilisi, Georgia, Natia Chanturidze studied at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. She is attracted by nature, flowers, water and landscapes, fascinated by the aesthetics of nature, which is downright meant for art. After a long journey in the use of mixed methods of oil painting, Natia discovered and calibrated her own painting style. Primitive and naïve, with a bright Georgian coloring, Natia’s works fill our hearts with warmth and joy like good Georgian wine! We sincerely congratulate Natia on her nomination and wish her further creative success at plARTform and beyond!
2022 April
Vassil Vassilev-Zouek
Bulgaria, 1965
Tell any Bulgarian the name Vasil Vasilev and the reaction will be blank – in Bulgaria it’s a name/surname as popular and trivial as Ivan Ivanov. Tell them “Zueka” and their faces immediately lighten up and smile – Vasil Vasilev-Zueka is one of the most famous Bulgarian comedians, a multifaceted person that acts in films, plays in the theater, works as a TV host and producer. But wait! There is one much less known part of his talent – Vasil is a genuinely gifted painter! And it is him that the plARTform jury nominates to be the "artist of the month"! Much less known to the public, Vasil Vasilev - Zueka has been painting since early childhood. His paintings seem to be kind of inner reflections on events and situations that massively overwhelm our human consciousness. When looking upon each of Vassil’s paintings, the viewer is instantly consumed by the powerful story captured in a single moment. Fascinated by the heritage of last century artists such as Picasso, Modigliani, Dali and many others, Vasil perhaps keeps in his mind a set of images, symbols and colors that come together to deliver a powerful message. His style is clearly recognizable, the figures being often deformed and elongated, the characters in the paintings being fictional and often somewhat naive. Vasil Vasilev-Zueka paintings are like idealistic yet powerful appeals to our humanity – strange yet full of empathy! Vassil had several solo exhibitions with many of his works ending up in private collections. plARTform sincerely congratulates Vasil Vasilev - Zueka with the nomination and wishes him the same fascinatingly creative results that miraculously awaken the best in us!
2022 February
Sergei Paprotskyi
Ukraine, 1955
The plARTform the artist of February nomination goes to Sergei Paprotskyi from Ukraine. Not because his country is victim of cruel and unjustified aggression. plARTform fully supports UKRAINIAN FLAG. The nomination is based purely on his artistic and creative merit and accomplishment. Born in Odessa and living in Ukraine, Sergey is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Paprotskyi's paintings are mostly abstract. One of the goals of abstraction is the image of certain color combinations and geometric shapes that create a sensation of fullness and completeness of the composition. It is through this abstraction how the artist communicates with society. For example, any fear or phobia has its own name - the artist then models for himself the understanding of it and tries to depict its perception and express it into an abstraction. One possible goal of the artist is the spontaneous expression of the inner world (subconscious) in certain forms that are not organized by logical thinking. Sergei Paprotskyi is an active participant in many Ukrainian regional and national exhibitions and often participates in exhibitions abroad. His art is found in both museums and private collections in Ukraine, Poland, USA, Italy, Germany, France, Canada etc. We sincerely congratulate Sergei Paprotskyi on the nomination and wish him to stay well and cheer us with his art for years to come!
2022 January
Artur Isayan
Armenia, 1960
Welcome to the first nomination of Artist of the Month in 2022! The choice of our jury for January falls on Artur Isayan from Armenia. As a personality, Artur seems to be always driven and inspired by any opportunity, big or small, to express his emotions, feelings and outlook with the help of color and canvas. Here is how he explains it himself: “I paint because I can't live without it. The ideas that inspire me can be different: people, animals, beautiful landscapes, architecture. Sometimes it can be ordinary things or people seen from an unusual angle. When you notice something unusual, beautiful, funny, you want to share it with other people. Using various methods, I try to convey to the viewer the nuances that attracted my attention.” Indeed, looking at Arthur’s art, he really means it! His art can be seen in numerous exhibitions in Armenia and abroad and found also in private collections from Armenia, Russia and Ukraine, to France, Germany, USA and the United Arab Emirates. Congratulations Artur Isayan with the nomination! You can check his gallery at www.plARTform.net , like and buy or suggest your price for his paintings!
2021 December
Krassimir Kolev
Austria, 1969
It is plARTform’s delight to present our choice for Artist of December 2021 - Krassimir Kolev from Austria Born in Bulgaria, avant-garde artist Krassimir Kolev moved abroad to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna graduating as a Master of Fine Arts. The artist is living and working permanently in Austria since 2012. Krassimir works with painting, sculpture, photography and "new media art", but his greatest fascination is undoubtedly the human being. In his own words, any person has an own and unique appeal. In this way, a human body becomes a canvas on which the human soul paints its own stories. Krassimir sees his role as an artist to observe, discover and interpret such stories. He moves smoothly between figurative expressionism and abstract expressionism and composes intriguing works marked by unexpected elements, strong shapes and a rich color palette. The master in his painting technique works in two directions - oil paintings with a volumetric visual effect and oil with watercolors. Krassimir Kolev has taken part in numerous public projects and has exhibited his works of art in different countries such as Denmark, Germany, Austria, Norway, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, USA, Sweden among others where his works have received numerous awards. plARTform full heartedly congratulates Krassimir with yet another landmark recognition! We are proud and happy to see his own plARTform gallery and wish Krassimir Kolev great success, at plARTform and beyond!
2021 Octobre
Marcus Sherman
Russia, 1980
plARTform is happy to present our choice for Artist of October 2021! This time our jury has picked Marcus Sherman from Russia! Marcus Sherman is passionate about abstract art, giving viewers maximum freedom to create their own impressions. According to the artist, it is not possible to translate visual language into one of words. Thus, a visual image presents self-sufficient language for communicating with the viewer – one that does not require textual accompaniment and/or verbal decoding. Variability, versatility, understatement and depth are integral features of this language. The artist not only does not impose his point of view but also does not aim for the viewer to draw specific conclusions. Instead the idea is to invite the viewer to work together with the artist. Marcus works with a variety of painting and graphic materials and techniques. In most of his works, he uses a complex synthesis of oil glazes, collages and variety of own unique techniques. Before creating any work, Marcus collects a large amount of material, creates several sketches in different techniques and only then chooses his own perception of the best. This way, on average the artist works on one piece between 2 and 4 months trying to reach artistic perfection. At the moment, Marcus works with subconstructivism - a modern representation of constructivism, denounced to the aesthetic form of the presentation of constructive spatial geometric forms. plARTform collection is honored to feature Marcus Sherman’s works and happy to congratulate him with the nomination!
2021 September
Desislava Tzankova
Bulgaria, 1982
The plARTform jury announces Desislava Tzankova from Bulgaria to be their choice for a Painter of September 2021! Nature and all its forms, shapes and wonders has been always one of the greatest sources of inspiration and admiration for Desislava! You can easily see it in her paintings where she tries to convey the plastic essence of nature as a celebration of fluid colors! Desislava’s paintings are a little bit like a dream – you did like it, you were mesmerized by it, you got elevated by it…but you can’t describe much of the details focusing on one single feeling: it was beautiful! In the forms that the artist uses, there is usually no concreteness and truth in the literal sense of the word, no narrative or sense of time and space. Sometimes they disintegrate beyond recognition into small abstract parts, through which Desislava seeks their influence on our minds and idea of the eternal. Occasionally the forms are simple, soft and associative, at times deliberately exaggerated to create the feeling of something unreal, but at the same time present and permanent. Thus the artist deliberately creates a complex challenge to the abstract mind and imagination as well as to our ability to orchestrate meaning and senses. But what a delightful sensation do her paintings bring to life! plARTform wholeheartedly congratulates Desislava Tzankova for getting our nomination! Godspeed Desislava and good luck on plARTform!
2021 August
József Tüttő
Hungary, 1971
plARTform is happy to present our the Painter of August 2021! This time our jury choice has fallen on József Tüttő from Hungary! József Tüttő’s paintings create a special world in which he performs both as a virtuoso traveler and a magician. In the plots of his paintings, you can see the realism and fabulousness, irony and absurdity, symbolism and mystery. All this enhanced by an intensive use of colors. As the artist himself says "I make my works from realistic elements but without coping or bonding with reality". You may not see all the colors of a rainbow in József’s paintings! Usually, the artist employs only two, three or four colors in a painting, which he imposes with a special technique making his works soft and transparent, silky and velvety, as if they were done in watercolors. József’s started his art journey in 1993 and gave him plenty of time to build perseverance, diligence and creativity! That in turn taught him to make enjoyable even the most absurd and comical situations. Undoubtedly, Joseph Tüttő can be described as a painter with unique style featuring specific themes and techniques! We are happy to see József’s art being part of plARTform and wish him successful artistic journey!
2021 July
George Khakhutashvili
Georgia, 1969
plARTform is happy to present our choice for Painter of July 2021! This time our jury has picked George Khakhutashvili from Georgia! Born in Tbilisi, George’s first teacher was his own father Dmitry Khakhutashvili – a renowned Georgian artist. It was him who inspired and helped his son develop his unique understanding of creativity plus the skills to use and apply different styles. For an artist, the expressiveness and brightness of colour are of particular importance! Helped by his great mastery with colour, George achieves maximum harmony between cold and warm tones, conveying a kind of ecstatic state that is inherent in expressionism and fauvism. The paintings of George Khakhutashvili are always filled with warmth like his home country Georgia, and the bright gamut of colours on his masterpieces simple, like everything genius, makes you feel that life is beautiful! Congratulations George Khakhutashvili for this nomination and good luck at plARTform!!!
2021 June
Kovacs Anna Brigitta
Hungary, 1974
plARTform choice for June 2021 Painter of the month falls on Anna Brigitta Kovacs from Hungary. Being in love with both impressionism and realism styles for the fluidity they offer and allow her to capture, Anna’s beloved technique is watercolor. Already in her childhood Anna’s school teacher in art called her "The Queen of Colors". And indeed, in the artist's paintings, we see pure and bright colors that play fabulously with each other, creating an amazing and wonderful world. Each painting offers the viewer an opportunity to plunge into these colorful dimensions, which are so skillfully spotted and depicted by the artist. Anna sees her life mission to be in interpreting the beauty of the natural and the man-made world, and then delivering all its joy to people. Anna Brigitta Kovacs has participated in many group and solo exhibitions and her works are found in many private and museum collections. plARTform congratulates Anna with one more achievement – being picked and nominated within the many artists and their gorgeous works in our gallery!
