2021 June
Kovacs Anna Brigitta
Hungary, 1974
plARTform choice for June 2021 Painter of the month falls on Anna Brigitta Kovacs from Hungary. Being in love with both impressionism and realism styles for the fluidity they offer and allow her to capture, Anna’s beloved technique is watercolor. Already in her childhood Anna’s school teacher in art called her "The Queen of Colors". And indeed, in the artist's paintings, we see pure and bright colors that play fabulously with each other, creating an amazing and wonderful world. Each painting offers the viewer an opportunity to plunge into these colorful dimensions, which are so skillfully spotted and depicted by the artist. Anna sees her life mission to be in interpreting the beauty of the natural and the man-made world, and then delivering all its joy to people. Anna Brigitta Kovacs has participated in many group and solo exhibitions and her works are found in many private and museum collections. plARTform congratulates Anna with one more achievement – being picked and nominated within the many artists and their gorgeous works in our gallery!
2021 May
Vitalii Bondarenko
Ukraine, 1968
For May, the choice has fallen on Vitalii Bondarenko from Ukraine! The jury members truly admired the way Vitalii’s works emit light and positive energy where a mosaic of brush strokes creates a harmony of exquisite color. You can feel the softness and lightness of the works thanks to the lack of contrast. It is no exaggeration to say that Vitaly Bondarenko is a strong contemporary artist within the classical school of painting. He works in different genres, formats, and sizes where we find realistic, decorative and abstract works. There is also a large diversity of subjects in his art: from natural and urban landscapes to female portraits. They are magically imaginative, yet realistic – one expects any moment figures to come alive or a wave to wash our feet. We are happy to see Vitalii’s art being part of plARTform and wish him successful and creative artistic journey!
2021 April
Valentina Kozyar
Ukraine, 1962
plARTform is happy to present the our choice for Painter of the month! For April the winner is Valentina Kozyar from Ukraine. Valentina Kozyar compares abstraction with jazz. Like real jazz, abstraction is the art of self-expression through the harmony of color and composition. Just like music abstraction is born and pours from the soul. Abstraction does not impose specific and realistic plots – it comes rather as a dialogue. Valentina seems to be able and put her thoughts in a way that allows the viewer to feel the emotions and mood that she creates in her paintings. Canvases, understandable and at the same time complex in their philosophy, ignited by a secret spark, strangely uniting and developing the magic ability to exist, feel, and think. The intertwining of multicolored hues captures highlights from the current point in time, fills the soul with emotions, desires and feelings. Good painting, like music, where one note, one sound is nothing, but the intuitively found sequence and the ratio of notes and sounds create harmony.
2021 March
Emilia Milcheva
Bulgaria, 1972
plARTform is happy to present the our choice for Painter of the March! Emilia Milcheva. Bulgaria. The paintings of the contemporary artist Emilia Milcheva are fresh, bright and light. Emilia was born and works in sunny Bulgaria, and her canvases, filled with sun, air and the play of chiaroscuro, are a real hymn to nature. Among the artist's works are landscapes, she also enthusiastically paints flower paintings. All her works have a magnificent palette of colors. They bring us the tranquil joy of the author’s world! Emilia Milcheva passion for drawing and fine art started unexpectedly with a dress of her mom - a white tricot dress with purple-red-to pink roses printed on it! She saw the beauty of the whole world captured in that dress! So, Emilia started painting roses and never stopped painting ever since. Years later, nature is still the main source of inspiration for her. Emilia is deeply touched by the organic order and harmony of nature, it leaves her with a feeling of genuine tranquility! The painter’s wish and hope is that her paintings radiate and make the audience feel the same happiness and peace of mind that she experiences while painting the piece - to feel the same warmth, comfort and quietness that she mixes within the layers of paint. In Emilia’s world creating is the most powerful side of human beings but creating alone is not sufficient - there must be people to share with, to make a connection, to build the bridge along the lines of speaker and listener.
2021 February
Rade Grahovac
Serbia, 1969
plARTform is happy to present the our choice for Painter of the February! Rade Grahovac is a born in Bosnia Serbian artist whose paintings can be found in numerous galleries and private collections. He is also a musician, music producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. Rade collaborates with many famous artists throughout the Balkans and sincerely strives to show not only colors in his music nut also musical harmony in his paintings. Our jury highly appreciated the bold way in which Rade Grahovac explores the world of colors. When looking at the sunny areas in his paintings one is charged with a defiantly optimistic message. The artist shows the harmony of man and nature in the richness of color complementarity. The rainbow-colored landscape in his paintings offers a sense of hope that can only be found in heaven. Such a spectacular result seems to deal with the clever way in which the artist mixes contrasting and complementing shades using exquisite brush techniques to produce an ambiance of hope and humanity. In his work, you find an atmosphere of bright, joyful pleasure mingled with a sense of peace and serenity that can come only with the splendor of nature. Rade Grahovac is also not hesitant to blend reality and abstract, colliding classicism and modernity. plARTform wholeheartedly congratulates Rade Grahovac for becoming Painter of the Month, February 2021!
2021 January
Sergei Balenok
Belarus, 1954
Sergei Balenok is one the best known Belarusian graphic artists of the 20th century. He is also a book designer and has laid out numerous publications for example Kurt Vonnegut’s “Cat’s Cradle”, the collection of sci-fi stories “Planet For Sale”, several collections of Joseph Brodsky’s poetry, and many others. Arts critics consider him an “atypical” or even “scandalous” artist and praise a very distinctive lyricism of his works. Every detail in each picture by Sergei Balenok is deliberate, and each image concentrates on conveying the artist's vast range of personal experiences. The works of Sergei Balenok feature ghostly depopulated cities, dramatic moments depicting mysterious figures in flight, and the forms of shadows without the objects that cast them. The shadow is the protagonist of the artist's etchings which takes completely amazing outline. A usual cap seems like an ancient cylinder hat, while the face is hiding behind the long collar of a winter coat. The magic of the night light turns falling snow into flying gold dust and streets into a sanctuary for bizarre creatures who wander along the wet and cold sleeping city in loneliness. In a mysterious manner every “philosophical picture”, as the artist refers to his works, becomes an illustration to the life of our Hidden – something one avoids, makes an effort not to see, yet it is so vivid in the light of a streetlight at night and so palpable to the sound of dark ambient and sad tango.
