I wake up in the morning, open Facebook, read the news... and when the hell will I finally wake up from this nightmare...In creating this piece, I sought to bridge the classic with the contemporary, touching on themes of protection and introspection. The subtle interplay of light and shadow across the figure and her feline companions exudes a sense of calm vigilance. The rich texture of acrylics on canvas provides a depth that echoes the timeless yet personal narrative captured here. For texture on the primed canvas before painting, a layer of textured paste with small glass particles is applied and then sanded for smoothness.
