My name is Maya Mecheva. I am born in Gabrovo (Bulgaria), May, 1976. I graduated at the Fine Arts School "Vl. Dimitrov - The Master" - painting - 1995. Also graduated in Theology (Master's degree) at the Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski". And my theater education is at the “A' PART” Theater Studio - Plovdiv. From 1995, I am a Member of the Society of Kardzhali Artists, and participates in all their exhibitions also and many others. I have participated in exhibitions in galleries in Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Kozloduy, Troyan, Moscow (Russia), Washington and Chicago (USA), Norway, Belgium, Japan. Since 1998, I am a member of the Literary Almanac "Circle" I work mainly with oil paints, watercolor and ink. Lately I've also been working on modeling (on canvas) laminated paper, adding different textures and forms. I have four solo exhibitions. I am an author of four theatrical miniatures. Also I am participant and coordinator of several performances, literary readings and musical etudes. I live and work in Kardhali (Bulgaria).
